Hsiao-Yi Yu’s Online Organ Concert

Hsiao-Yi Yu’s online organ performance, is a journey of Hsiao-Yi Yu’s exquisite performance skills through classic repertoires in conjunction with innovative interpretation of aesthetics through collaboration with various artists, including acclaimed painter from U.S, jazz pianist from Israel, and modern dancer from Taiwan. Besides, the extraordinary concert features brand new stage-lighting technique integrated with special lens aesthetics, bringing a dazzling artistic style to the international classical music scene.

Hsiao-Yi Yu will play the largest pipe organ in Asia in Weiwuying Concert Hall and bring a whole new listening experience to audiences around the world.

Hsiao-Yi Yu has a remarkable talent for organ music, and she successfully challenges both the classical world and modern music. Through her total mastery of multiple keyboards and pedal of the pipe organ, she opens up the imagination of classical music fans to the world of organ music. She transforms the gigantic instrument into a compelling music genre.

Hsiao-Yi Yu's first album Outstanding Acoustics，Exquisite Music was a phenomenal success. It broke the sales record in classical music category. As soon as it was released, it ranked No. 1 on Books.com.tw and set a record of reprinting within one month. In 2018, in collaboration with the trumpeter Chang-Po Chen, she recorded the gospel music album Just for you and won the "Best Religious Music Award" at the 30th Golden Melody Awards. Her new album will be released in the winter of 2021.

Hsiao-Yi Yu is active in the international music scene. She has performed in Vienna and San Jose in California. In June 2019, ten outstanding international female organists were invited to the "World Organ Day" held in Germany and Hsiao-Yi Yu represented Taiwan to perform at St. Peter's Cathedral in Recklinghausen. In July of the same year, Hsiao-Yi Yu was invited by the Polish International Organ Music Festival to perform five concerts. The media and the audience responded enthusiastically. They praised: "Hsiao-Yi Yu is the most gifted organ musician." Some even commented: "it is the most beautiful organ music we have ever heard."

On January 31, 2021, Hsiao-Yi Yu performed with dazzling technique and charisma at the National Concert Hall in Taipei. She stormed the hall with a sold-out performance.

Highlights of the Hsiao-Yi Yu’s Online Concert

It showcases an orchestrated art performance style, bringing the audience a colorful and superb musical feast:

Hsiao-Yi Yu employs exquisite techniques to interpret classical repertoires, conveying emotions that resonate with the soul.

Along with Bach and spiritual music, the images of Makoto Fujimura’s paintings interwind simultaneously to bring a unique experience to the audience.

The organ music Song of Triumph, composed by the Israeli Jazz musician Oren Dashti, will debut at the concert. In addition, Oren Dashti, also a Jazz pianist, and Hsiao-Yi Yu will perform a duet piece Missing you.

Through Sir Edward Elgar’s classic pieces, Morning Song and Evening Scene, Hsiao-Yi Yu will pay tribute to Michelangelo's masterpiece Day and Night, and Morning and Dusk. Along with the music, Sara Ying, a modern dancer with beautiful and unique body language, will perform a touching artistic dance that interprets the sculpture and organ music.

Through creative lighting and camera aesthetics, the concert integrates various artistic performances and transcends a whole new experience to the global audience.

Hsiao-Yi Yu's online organ concert will be held at KKTix Virtual Venue at 8 pm, September 20, 2021.

【緣起ORIGIN 】

雖然疫情侵襲著我們的生活，但在全民的合作下，讓疫情能獲得控制。其中，醫護人員的犧牲與付出，是守住我們家園的重要關鍵。我要特別向勇敢與疫情奮戰的您和台灣的醫護英雄，表達最高的致敬和感謝。在我的演奏生涯中，一向不乏醫護人員的贊助支持，因此這場演奏會更要特別向醫護人員致敬。謝謝你們，我們得以揮別黑夜，迎向黎明！

緣此，在共同守護家園之際，我和團隊決定舉辦別開生面的線上管風琴音樂會，以創新演繹的美學概念，邀約國際藝術大師、爵士鋼琴家、現代舞蹈家合作演出，以全新的舞台光影和鏡頭美學，融合為嶄新的薈萃藝術，也為國際古典樂壇帶來光彩奪目的全新藝術風貌：

在這線上音樂會，我將詮釋巴赫、維多、艾爾加等作曲家的經典曲目；此外，這場線上音樂會將帶來精心設計嶄新的藝術展演型態，帶給您前所未有的饗宴。

■ 樂音與繪畫的共鳴：透過巴赫和聖樂色彩的經典曲目，呼應國際知名大師「藤村真」的畫作，營造和諧美妙的氛圍，帶給樂友精神性的愉悅。

■ 原創管風琴曲目與爵士鋼琴：首演以色列作曲家全新管風琴曲目，同場演出管風琴與爵士鋼琴二重奏。

■ 心靈樂曲、藝術作品和舞蹈的多重呈現：透過艾爾加的音樂，向米開朗基羅偉大的雕像藝術《日夜晨暮》巨作致意，同時呈現米開朗基羅和波特萊爾的相關詩作。這段曲目也將由現代舞蹈家協演，以優美獨特的身體語彙，展現感動人心的藝術風采。

■ 奇幻光影與鏡頭美學的交織：繽紛多元的藝術相互輝映綻現力量，與管風琴多樣的音色體現，化為無際的視覺想像，展現藝術薈萃精華的融合。
